A Northshore School District staff member spotted a black bear near Woodmoor Elementary in Bothell this morning, and that school along with nearby Northshore Junior High are in modified lockdowns as a precautionary measure, according to district communications director Leanna Albrecht.

Two Northshore Fire Department firefighters displayed the Harbour Village Marina’s updated fire-suppression system this afternoon in Kenmore. The marina received a $95,000 state boating infrastructure grant to help pay for a $120,000 improvement to the system.

Pictured, the firefighters hook up a hose to a standpipe on the breakwater dock. In the parking lot, about 400 feet away, fellow firefighters connect lines to another standpipe and a hydrant and pump water from the truck into those to pressurize the system, according to Mark Musch, the fire department’s training director.

One man gave a new meaning to drive-through service at a Bothell Taco Bell last night.

At about 8:25 p.m. at the Canyon Park eatery in the 23200 block of State Route 527, the adult driver of a BMW attempted to park in front, but accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes and rammed through the front glass window, according to Capt. Denise Langford of the Bothell Police Department.

City of Bothell releases West Bothell Landing Parcel

The city of Bothell has released an RFP (request for proposal) to sell a prime downtown parcel of property called the West Bothell Landing Parcel.

Proposals are due to the city by 4 p.m. April 20. Questions can be received by the city until 4 p.m. April 8.
