James Sprague, owner of Bothell’s Fancy Plants Gardens, teamed up with Everett’s Susan Browne Landscape Design and Seattle’s Pamela Richards Garden Design to create “Complements,” an exhibition garden at the 2010 Northwest Flower and Garden Show held in early February at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. The group earned a gold medal for the quality of its work. Jurying this year’s gardens were Fergus Garrett, head gardener at Great Dixter House and Gardens in London; Roger Swain, author, gardener and former host of “The Victory Garden,” television’s longest running gardening show; and Andrea Cochran, of Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture in San Francisco.
