Menchies, a local frozen yogurt restaurant, will be hosting a grand opening event for the new store located at 19122 Beardslee Blvd, Suite 103, in Bothell May 9-15.

“[Menchies] is a family owned business and our motive is to spread smiles to everyone who walks in our store,” said Kay Ramzan in an email. “The new Menchies will bring a place for the local population to hang out and hold events and consider this a place to their own.”

The new store, which is just north of UW Bothell’s campus, will be having a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. with Menchie, free yogurt between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and free T-shirts to the first 25 guests.

A balloon artists will also be on hand during the grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration.

“We think the downtown Bothell will benefit a lot from the new Menchies. We are a franchise that gives back to the community by holding community events such as fundraisers on a regular basis,” Kay said. “Also, not just the students at UW or Cascadia Bothell, but the entire population of downtown Bothell will have a place to hang out and hold events like mixers and birthday parties.”

Even after Menchies’ officially opens on May 9, there will be a week of freebies to entice customers to return, including plushie dolls and more T-shirts on Sunday, a cup of yogurt on Monday for $1 and more.
