Orcas Island was chosen for the third year in a row for airline Kenmore Air’s “Vote for your Favorite Island” contest.

Tickets will go on sale for just $89 each way between Seattle and Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands starting Wednesday.

“Our customers, fans and friends voted and we listened,” said Kenmore Air President Todd Banks said. “Thank you for the 2,000-plus votes we received on our Facebook page.”

The company holds the contest each year through social media.

Four days this week – August 6, 7, 8 and 9 – patrons may book a $89 seats between Seattle and Orcas Island for travel Sept. 22, 2014 to Nov. 25, 2014, December 3 to 18, 2014 or Jan. 3 to March 31, 2015. That’s about 35 percent off regular fares.
