Says Chancellor Kenyon S. Chan, “This new addition is in line with our tradition of providing access to excellence in higher education. Students will now have another venue to pursue this highly-sought-after degree and will benefit greatly from its unique offerings and extraordinary faculty.”

The BA in business administration at the ELC is built on a cohort model- students work with the same tight-knit group throughout their education. Classes will be offered on Monday and Wednesday evenings for the convenience of working professionals on the Eastside and from Seattle. Students will benefit from the high-tech classrooms, student lounges, conference room and faculty offices in a wooded location right off the 148th Avenue exit on State Route 520. Parking is free and the ELC is easily accessible via public transportation.

The UW-Bothell BA in business administration focuses on providing students an academically rigorous education while preparing them for the complex challenges faced by local businesses. Students consult for local businesses and prepare business plans for their own companies. International business students aim to succeed in a global environment. A mentorship program is expected to guide students with their career plans.

“We are delighted to be able to offer these exciting new opportunities to students who are working or residing in Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Issaquah and surrounding communities. Our goal is to create signature programs that truly add value to lives of students.” says Walter Freytag, associate director of the business program.

The BA in business administration at the ELC is a self-sustaining degree completion program of the University of Washington (one of two such offerings from UW-Bothell; the other being the master of science in computing and software systems). It was created in conjunction with UW educational outreach in response to student/community demand as an alternative for those seeking a UW-Bothell business education. Courses are offered at $345 per credit for resident-status and $667 for non-resident status.
