Daniels proposal wont work for the same reason McMenamin’s backed out | Letter

McMenamin’s proposal was opposed by many people who explored the options carefully, including myself as a member of the citizens’ advisory committee that worked on the park’s Classification and Management Plan 2005-07. Even before that process was completed, McMenamin’s walked away from their proposal, so it’s just incorrect to blame either project opponents, State Parks, the city of Kenmore or any other public decision-maker for what happened.

Many of us who opposed McMenamin’s also think the Daniels proposal has the same drawbacks but others think it’s an improvement.

Personally, I don’t think the project cost numbers will work for Daniels any better than they worked for McMenamin’s.
