Duerr hardworking and engaged | Letter

Davina Duerr may be the most hard-working and engaged member who has ever served on Bothell City Council.

Before serving on council, she served more than four years with Northshore School Foundation as the chair of M.I.L.K. (Making an Impact on Learning and Kids.). For 10 years, she served on the Bothell Landmark Preservation Board. As deputy mayor for the last three years she has hold quarterly conversations with Bothell residents at the library to hear neighbors’ concerns and answer questions about city policies, budgets, etc. In addition to holding public meetings, she sends out a summary of the council meetings.

Davina exemplifies hard work and engagement and she is smart! Council majority hired a lobbyist to shepherd the priorities through the state legislative budget process. Throughout the legislative session Bothell city councilmembers made many trips to Olympia focused on their five legislative priorities. Their efforts culminated in all five priorities being supported by the state Legislature.

In return for an investment of $50,000 in consulting services, our council led by Davina, was successful in securing $6 million from the state for I-405 enhancements, support in hiring and training police, preparations for Bus Rapid Transit, restoring the Bothell Bridge and converting two contaminated parcels of land from liabilities to assets for the city.

Davina Duerr deserves your vote!
