Failed Kenmore candidate now wants to run Northshore Schools? | Letter

Ken Smith is at it again. In 2013, ran for Kenmore City Council, and lost. His campaign pitch was that Kenmore can’t keep track of its money, and that he, as a smart accountant, would solve this problem. And that the City of Kenmore doesn’t “listen” to us. (Bothell-Kenmore Reporter, July 22, 2013).

The voters soundly rejected him, and voted for his opponent by a double digit margin.
He’s now making the same pitch as a candidate for the Northshore School Board. While Northshore isn’t perfect, it’s a great school district. They track their money well, provide opportunities for community input, and make thoughtful decisions—even if I don’t always agree with every one of them.

Smith and his pitch: not a good fit for Northshore teachers, parents or students.
