The commitment and quality of Northshore’s teachers is why Northshore is one of the top school districts in our state. Northshore’s teachers want to keep Northshore a great place to raise our families. We encourage you to vote for John Hammond and David Cogan for the Northshore School Board. They will be strong advocates for our community and schools.

John Hammond is a special education teacher in the Edmonds School District, and a former firefighter and fire lieutenant who lives in Kenmore. His expertise as a teacher and his knowledge of effective public service organizations, will be major assets on the School Board. His opponent led the unsuccessful effort to defeat the 2014 Capital Projects Bond that is now paying to get our kids out of portables, build the new North Creek High School, and finish the Woodinville High School remodel. We are grateful that our community ignored his opponent’s rhetoric, and passed the bond with a 65-percent vote.

David Cogan is a parent of two Northshore students and manager of part of a large bio-medical firm. His commitment to our community has included volunteering with the PTSA, in the classroom and as a Board Member of Northshore Lacrosse. He has actively lobbied in Olympia for the State school funding our kids have been denied. His intelligence, listening skills and leadership qualities will be a valuable addition to the School Board.

Let’s keep Northshore a great school district! Please don’t forget to vote by Nov. 3.
