Theo and mom Karen Cooksey of Bothell discuss whether to grab some apples Friday morning at the Yakima Fruit Market at 17321 Bothell Way N.E. March 3 was opening day. Ken and Marie Lynch built the market in 1950, selling it to the Poage family in 1972. Today, it is owned by Stuart and Karin Poage. The market closes every October and reopens on a temporary basis to sell Christmas trees after Thanksgiving.
