Bothell student completes week as page

Michael Marquess temporarily held the title in the Washington State House of Representatives.

Michael Marquess, a student at Bothell High School, served as a page this week in the Washington State House of Representatives.

Sponsored by State Rep. Derek Stanford (D-Bothell), Michael is the son of Tomomi Marquess and Michael Marquess Sr. of Bothell. Pages perform a wide variety of responsibilities, from presenting the flags to distributing amendments on the House floor.

In addition to contributing to the efficient operation of the Legislature, pages receive daily civics instruction, draft their own bills and participate in mock committee hearings. Michael enjoys watching movies, as well as creating his own films, in his spare time.
