“My birthday is April 26, and I thought this was a fun way to celebrate, by bringing all the babies and their families together,” said Dr. Curtis, who is Kenmore City Council’s deputy mayor. “Last November, I reached a milestone, delivering a baby for a now-adult baby I delivered.”

Dr. Curtis, who will continue his primary-care practice, will no longer be taking maternity and delivery cases. He hates to give up the fun and amazing part of bringing new life into the world but said it is time to spend his nights sleeping. In nearly 27 years of doing obstetrics and more than 1,000 maternity patients, he has missed only 17 deliveries.

As part of the party and program, Dr. Curtis has asked families to send him photographs of the children he has delivered. He would like both a baby picture and a current picture (labeled with the names and birth date). They should be submitted by e-mail to drcurtisdelivers@hotmail.com, or mailed to Celebration of Life Party, Evergreen Medical Group Kenmore, 18208 66th Ave. N.E., Suite 200, Kenmore, WA. 98028.

RSVPs for the party may be sent to that e-mail address or called to (425) 485-6561.
