Foundation serves up a presidential meal

A new president, a glitzy meal.

A new president, a glitzy meal.

In celebration of the Jan. 20 Presidential Inaugural Dinner, the residents at Foundation House at Bothell enjoyed a menu fashioned from that of the actual White House menu, including President Obama’s grandmother’s recipe for Hawaiian chutney. Chef Ian Andersen, former chef to President and First Lady George Bush from 2001-2005, prepared the meal.

The menu included aged black-angus beef tenderloin medallions, grilled wild Alaskan salmon with pan-seared weather-vane scallops and crispy pork belly with wild greens. All entrées were served with Hawaiian chutney.

“Welcome to the realm of reality!” Andersen said of the day’s events.
