Local nationally-syndicated radio show from Bothell expanding to Saturdays

The nationally-syndicated Wrestling Observer Live radio show, hosted by Bothell's Bryan Alvarez, expanded to Saturdays at 10 a.m. on Nov. 29 on the Sports Byline USA Radio Network. The one-hour Saturday show will be followed Sundays by a two-hour live edition beginning at 3 p.m.

“I am so excited to add a Saturday morning show,” said Alvarez, 39, who produces the show from his home studio in Bothell. “I love wrestling and I love live radio, so I couldn’t ask for a better job.”

Sports Byline USA, broadcasting out of San Francisco has more than 200 affiliates around the United States and overseas, broadcasting to over 2.2 million listeners per week. Sports Byline’s distribution network includes The Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, more than 500 stations on the American Forces Network, Cable Radio Networks Digital Radio and SiriusXM Radio on the SportsZone channel. Wrestling Observer Live also streams worldwide through www.sportsbyline.com, the SiriusXM Radio app, TuneIn Radio and iHeart Radio.

In addition to his Sports Byline USA hosting duties, Alvarez, a former pro-wrestler himself, produces an average of 12 additional podcasts per week, talking the latest news in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), TNA Impact Wrestling, the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) and more. The podcasts are available for subscribers to his website, www.wrestlingobserver.com. The website’s audio archive also contains over 6,000 shows dating back to the site’s inception in 2005.

“What can I say?” Alvarez said. “I love it.”

Alvarez is also the head jiu-jitsu instructor at Evergreen Karate and Jiu-Jitsu in Bothell.
