A dedication ceremony for the Model T Ford sculpture, placed at the Red Brick Road Park in Bothell, was held on May 30. The sculpture was a collaboration of the Bothell Arts Council, Bothell Parks Board, the Bothell Landmark Preservation Board and welding students at Woodinville High School.

City of Bothell employees approached Woodinville High School representatives, requesting the welding students create the piece of art. Under the direction of teacher Jay Tonneslan, student Riley Schroeder took the lead on the project. Schroeder spent countless hours on the Model T, including approximately 100 hours after he graduated in 2014.

It was important to him to complete the project before leaving for college at the end of September. Several other students also contributed time on the project.

The city of Bothell hopes to add other sculptures to the park. Tonneslan is excited to have his students work on another project.
