Teen raises money and awareness for the Northshore Wranglers

In many ways Isaiah Caplan is your typical teenager. And, in many ways he is not. As part of his school’s business-development culminating project, Caplan, 15, from Orting decided to form a mock nonprofit and sell concessions to raise money for the Northshore Wranglers Special Recreation Program.

So, quarters, dimes and nickels at a time, the industrious teen raised more than $220 in his business venture surpassing all expectations. When his project concluded in June, while Caplan received praise and high marks for both his idea and his success, he remains most proud of what his donation means to the Northshore Wranglers.

The money donated will support the Northshore Wranglers Scholarship, which provides access for less privileged families in programming. The Northshore Wranglers Special Recreation Program, based in the Northshore Health & Wellness Center in Bothell, serves people of all ages with intellectual, cognitive and developmental disabilities, their families and caregivers in and around the Northshore community.
