Washington Preparatory School now accepting applications

Washington Preparatory School, a private, independent school serving grades six through 12, will open in the fall of 2018 with grades six through nine.

The school will add one grade per year until 2022, when it will graduate its first class of high school students. The school will offer a number of programs including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for students in grades 11 and 12.

WPS expects to be authorized to offer the full IB Diploma in the fall of 2020. In addition to the IB Diploma, the school’s curriculum will focus on Project Based Learning and Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Engineering, and Math.

This emphasis on entrepreneurial thinking skills is in place to help WPS students connect STEM knowledge with real-world problems. The fusion of STEM with an entrepreneurial spirit – understanding and applying the innovative process – aims to help WPS graduates become leaders and influencers in business, education, and the social sector.

WPS will be hosting an open house event on Jan. 13, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Parents and students are encouraged to come.

The school’s temporary site is located at 18323 Bothell-Everett Highway, Suite 220, Bothell, WA 98012. The future site is located across the street, where construction has begun on a 13.5-acre campus with the first 35,000 square foot building to open in the fall of 2019.

Apply today at www.waprep.org. Priority applications (offered with no application fee), are due Feb. 15. Rolling admissions will continue from Feb. 16 through the spring and summer.
