The Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS) will showcase 50 paintings of its membership artists in the 22nd Annual Waterworks 2013 Membership Exhibition, Oct. 22 through Nov. 22 at Tsuga Fine Art and Framing in Bothell.

The public is invited to attend the reception and awards ceremony from 6–8 p.m. on Oct. 24 when almost $5,000 in cash and merchandise prizes will be awarded by this year’s award winning juror, Michael Reardon.

“We had 233 entries this year from 156 of our members,” said Jolene Sanborn, exhibition co-chair. “When the entries closed on Aug. 6, a committee of seven reviewed the artwork files before sending them to Michael Reardon, this year’s juror. The entries were amazing and I am really glad I didn’t have to make the call of choosing the top 50.”

“The quality of work of our members is extraordinary,” add co-chair Che Lopez.

The NWWS membership is an international organization with most of the entries for the 2013 Waterworks coming from the Pacific NW and Canada. A list of the 50 accepted artists is posted here.
