“Our country owes its freedoms we all enjoy to the members of our armed forces, and behind every brave service man and woman are loved ones who share in that sacrifice with their unwavering support,” said Bob Bass, President, AT&T Washington.  “For nearly 100 years, our company has been recognized as a top employer for veterans and active military families. We’re proud of our AT&T Bothell employees for leading this event as one more way to say thanks to our military.”

The volunteers collected cash and non-perishable food throughout the month of May for what they called “Operation Healthy Snack.” They filled 300 care packages in 30 minutes.

“I am so glad to see our company and fellow employees doing it right; happily contributing their time, money and resources to send not just healthy snacks, but well wishes and love to those serving in the military,” said Shell Adams, AT&T Bothell employee.

May was Military Appreciation Month, designated by Congress to ensure the nation takes time to give thanks to service members, past and present.

“I’m proud to work at AT&T. As a Veteran I was especially proud today,” said Paul Taylor, AT&T Bothell employee.

Funds collected by AT&T Bothell employees were used to purchase additional non-perishable food items, which were added to the care packages.
