The Maltby Food Bank will celebrate its eighth charity auction and dinner on Sept. 12. The gala event held at The Golf Club at Echo Falls is sponsored by the Langston Family of Snohomish and will be hosted by auctioneer Kevin Van Hollebeke.
The doors of The Golf Club at Echo Falls will open at 4:30 p.m. for registration and the silent auction will take place until 6:30 p.m. A full sit-down dinner will commence at 6:30 p.m., which includes a steak, salmon or vegetarian entrée. The live auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. Cowboy attire is highly encouraged at this western-themed hoedown event.
Distinctive auction items up for bid include a one-week stay at an Italian Villa from Maremma Tours, baseball or softball camp from Rijo Athletics, and an evening as a guest of Gov. Jay Inslee at the annual holiday reception held at the Mansion in Olympia. Many other local businesses and individuals have donated fun and exciting prizes to be auctioned off such as local restaurant gift certificates and tickets to sporting events and theater performances.
The goal of the Maltby Food Bank is to continue improving processes for acquiring and distributing food, personal care items, school supplies, and holiday gifts to families in need. This year’s fund-a-need will focus on providing fresh produce and dairy all year round.
