Construction company Lease Crutcher Lewis announced Tuesday it has finished the basic structure for new $62 million Science Academic Building at the University of Washington Bothell. It is a milestone for the college and the construction company. Known as “UWB 3,” it is the first building to be constructed on the UW Bothell campus in 10 years.

The building is set to be completed in 2014 and will have 430 classroom seats, 11 laboratories and 200 lecture hall seats.

The project is producing nearly 1,500 construction-related jobs, more than 1,000 students and an increase in the number of STEM graduates in the Puget Sound region. The building will eventually house programs in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
