On July 24, Bothell Landing will host American Idol, singer-songwriter, beatboxer and local celebrity Blake Colin Lewis for a community concert.

Lewis, who is from Redmond and went to Kenmore Junior High School, Inglemoor High School and Washington State University, was a runner-up in the sixth season of American Idol.

“I’m lucky, I (found) the dream job — I love it,” Lewis said in a 2009 interview with the Bothell Reporter. “I want to have fun on tour and see the country, and communicate with audiences all around the world. Get people to dance, lose their inhibitions. It’s freeing.”

His newest album, Portrait of a Chameleon was released on his own record label called Audio Day Dream Records, named after his first album.
