Theft

Police reports list the incident as a theft. A customer of a local rental firm in the 1800 block of State Route 522 failed to return a chain saw valued at just over $550. The suspect was arrested and charged.

Dec. 15

Residential burglary

Police say a thief or thieves either used a remote control or somehow figured out an alarm keypad and broke into a home in the 16000 block of Waynita Way Northeast. They made off with several blue plastic tubs containing various items. Total value of the stolen goods was given as $200. Officials did not say if the incident was related to a burglary that took place on the same street the day prior.

Theft

The incident is listed in reports as a car theft and involves the alleged failure to return a rental car to a local business. Police say the suspect, who was arrested and charged, did not return a 2009 Chrysler Sebring, valued at $20,000. The car was recovered in the 17300 block of 14th Drive Southeast.

Dec. 14

Residential burglary

Reports say the suspect or suspects broke into a garage in the 15700 of Waynita Way Northeast. Missing items included assorted CDs and a Bluetooth cellphone set. Total value: $455.

Dec. 20

Reckless driver

Police arrested a driver allegedly caught doing doughnuts in his car in the parking lot of the Cedar Park apartments on Bothell Way Northeast. The suspect was charged with DUI and reckless driving.

Dec. 17

Residential burglary

Thieves hit an illicit jackpot when the they forced open some French doors on a home in the 15900 block of 70th Avenue Northeast. They made off with a large amount of electronics and jewelry valued at an estimated $35,000. According to police reports, four rings that were stolen are valued at $17,000 alone. Also missing were three laptop computers, cameras and numerous other items. Reports did not mention any suspects.

Theft from vehicle

Someone smashed out the passenger side window of a car parked in a residential driveway on Eighth Avenue Northeast. They swiped the victim’s purse, the contents of which were not listed in police reports.

Dec. 16

Residential burglary

The incident actually took place Dec. 15, but wasn’t reported until the following day. The suspect or suspects apparently entered a home on Northeast 146th Street through an unlocked bedroom window. They left with several cameras and lenses, an iPod and a home stereo system. Total value: just over $1,000.

Dec. 13

Weapons

After making what was described as a routine check of the store, police arrested the owner of Rocky’s Corner Store on Juanita Drive for possession and/or attempted sale of illegal weapons. Reports say officers confiscated three switchblade knives and six sets of brass knuckles that were on display and for sale inside the store.

The brass knuckles were being sold for about $15 each, while the price tag on the knives ranged from between $13 and $30. While he told police he did not know the items were illegal, the store’s owner could face one criminal count for each weapon confiscated.
