In an effort to help citizens regain their driving privileges and reduce debt owed to courts and their collection agencies, the city of Bothell Municipal Court is offering a debt-reduction program through May 31.

Designed to help those with outstanding traffic tickets and fines, the court and its collection agency, AllianceOne, have agreed to waive interest and a significant portion of collection costs.

Those with outstanding tickets or fines should contact AllianceOne at (800) 456-8838.

According to city and court officials, one goal of the program is to help those with problems regain driving privileges lost due to unpaid fines or fees. Once tickets are paid in full and payments are reported to the court, the court will in turn notify the state to clear the appropriate driving record. The driver may be able to obtain a valid driver’s license within 48 hours, if there are no other offenses or problems with the license.
