Bothell, Kenmore schools closed Tuesday due to road conditions

All Bothell and Kenmore schools are closed for a second day, Tuesday, Feb. 7, in the Northshore School District (NSD). The closure is due to road and power conditions, according to NSD administration officials.

There will also be no after-school or evening activities, athletics, band or orchestra.

The closure also pertains to half-day kindergarten, full-day kindergarten, Northshore Primary Center, Sorenson ECC and preschool classes.

Cedar Park Christian School in Bothell will also be closed on Tuesday.

The cancelation on Tuesday comes following the district’s Monday closure due to a snow storm that hit the greater Puget Sound area late Sunday night and most of the day on Monday. The storm blanketed the Northshore area with between 2-6 inches of snow depending on elevation.

University of Washington Bothell will resume classes on Tuesday but administration officials urged students to “use your best judgment before traveling.”

The snow storm also knocked out power to more than 1,600 customers in Finn Hill in Kenmore around 1:30 p.m. on Monday. The power was restored around 6 p.m. by Puget Sound Energy crews.
