At 6:20 p.m., the Bothell man riding on a Zhongneng scooter was traveling west on SR 104 when he struck the front bumper of an 18-year-old Edmonds man’s Scion, which was turning left onto 19th Avenue Northeast. The rider was thrown from his scooter and later taken to the hospital. The Scion driver was not injured.

State-patrol officials said the cause of the collision is still under investigation, but heavy rain that decreased visibility is believed to be a factor.
