Bothell man dies in estimated 97 mph motorcycle crash at Evergreen Fair

A 42-year-old Bothell man died when his motorcycle crashed during the Evergreen Fair drag race Monday.

A 42-year-old Bothell man died when his motorcycle crashed during the Evergreen Fair drag race Monday.

The unidentified man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding on collided with a bus at the track around noon. Investigators estimate his speed at 97 mph, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. Initial reports indicate that this was a new motorcycle for the rider and that he overshot the track.

The bus was one of several parked at the track for other speedway events, including a figure-eight demolition derby the night before. No one was aboard the bus and it was stationary at the time of the accident.

The exact cause and manner of the collision has not been determined by Sheriff’s investigators.

Identification of the motorcycle rider, as well as cause and manner of his death, will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
