Bothell receives $6.75 million for Multiway Bouldevard Phase II

These funds, combined with anticipated proceeds from the sale of downtown property, allow the City to proceed with the $14 million Phase II project.

Press release from the City of Bothell:

The City of Bothell has been awarded a $6.75 million grant from the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) for its Multiway Boulevard Phase II construction.

These funds, combined with anticipated proceeds from the sale of downtown property, allow the City to proceed with the $14 million Phase II project. Construction could begin in the spring of 2016 and be complete in about 15 months.

The $25 million Multiway Boulevard project will enhance Bothell Way from State Route 522 to NE 188th Street. The Boulevard is a key component of Bothell’s downtown revitalization plan. Phase I of the project completed landscaped medians, a side access lane with parking and sidewalk on the west side of Bothell Way from NE 183rd Street to Reder Way.

Phase I recently was awarded a Greenroads Bronze Rating, recognizing the project’s contributions for exceptional mobility and environmental standards.

Phase II of the project will complete the Boulevard, realizing the City’s goal of joining the new development on the west side of Bothell Way with the historic core on the east side. The improvements will also improve downtown traffic flow and add parking.
