Bothell Science Olympiad Team advances to state competition

The Bothell High School Science Olympiad team won top three placements in 20-out-of-23 events at the Regional State Qualifying competition at Highline Community College and advancing to the state competition, April 16, at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Wash.

The Bothell High School Science Olympiad team won top three placements in 20-out-of-23 events at the Regional State Qualifying competition at Highline Community College and advancing to the state competition, April 16, at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Wash. The student qualifiers by place and event include:

First place – Air Trajectory—Catherine Lopez and Alison Guard; Astronomy—Kelly Ewing and Alison Guard; Bridges—Orrin Harbol and Dylan Lennon; Cell Biology—Ali McAllister-Day and Ysabel Ojoylan; Disease Detectives—Tyler Petrie and Ellie Richmond; Experimental Design—Maddie Evarts, Kelly Ewing and Robert Ha; Forensics—Alison Guard and Aditya Jain; Fossils—Robert Ha and Ellie Richmond; It’s About Time—Aditya Jain and Bryan Yi; Protein Modeling—Ali McAllister-Day, Ysabel Ojoylan and Bryan Yi; Robot Arm—Aidan Gray and Rohan Skariah; and Wright Stuff—Catherine Lopez and Kelly Ewing.

Second place – Anatomy & Physiology—Robert Ha and Ali-McAllister-Day; Chemistry Lab—Alison Guard and Ysabel Ojoylan; Geo-Mapping—Robert Ha and Tyler Petrie; Hydrogeology—Ryan Short and Casey Sim; Wind Power—Aditya Jain and Bryan Yi; and Write It, Do It—Kelly Ewing and Ysabel Ojoylan.
