Seven-year-old Isabella McKnight from Bothell was granted ­her wish to meet singing and acting sensation Miley Cyrus in Los Angeles last week as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s World Wish Day celebration.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation celebrated World Wish Day by granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions in 41 countries where it operates.

Cyrus greeted McKnight and 13 other wish kids at the studio where she was preparing for her “Gypsy Heart” concert tour, which opened on World Wish Day, April 29, in Quito, Ecuador. McKnight’s wish experience included a makeover, a chance to visit with Cyrus, plus being treated to an exclusive performance by the platinum-selling artist during a dress rehearsal for the tour.

World Wish Day is a global wish-granting celebration that commemorates the anniversary of the wish that inspired the creation of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, now one of the world’s leading children’s charities. Seven-year-old Chris Greicius’ wish to be a police officer was granted in Phoenix, Ariz., by volunteers from several law-enforcement agencies on April 29, 1980.
