Bradley Portin to join UW-Bothell staff

University of Washington, Bothell Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan Jeffords has announced Bradley Portin as incoming director of the Education Program.

University of Washington, Bothell Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan Jeffords has announced Bradley Portin as incoming director of the Education Program.

As education director, Portin will oversee the Education Program and its faculty and staff. The program is home to more than 300 students and boasts masters-of-education offerings, as well as K-8, professional and secondary teaching certification options

Portin is currently on faculty for the College of Education at the University of Washington’s Seattle campus. A former public school principal, Portin has spent the last decade focusing on current roles of school principals, teacher leaders and how roles are changing to meet learning needs for all students

In addition, he has been co-principal investigator for two Wallace Foundation-funded studies and co-authored a number of academic monographs. Additionally, Portin has contacts with researchers internationally in their efforts to expand preparation, support and research for school leaders.
