Public hearing

Public hearing

to focus on water management

The Kenmore City Council will be holding a public hearing on the proposed Surface Water Management (SWM) Plan revisions, including utility rate adjustments for 2009, 2010 and 2011. It will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Northshore Utility District, 6830 N.E. 185th St., Kenmore.

The plan and rate increases address requirements in the city’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II Permit required by and issued by Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) to finance future capital improvement project (CIP) needs. These projects will help meet the identified needs, improve drainage and address flooding issues in the community.

For information, visit www.cityofkenmore.com or visit City Hall and ask for the opportunity to review the Surface Water Management Plan or receive a copy of the executive summary. Copies are also available at the Kenmore branch of the King County Library located at 18138 73rd Ave. N.E.
