The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCAA) has updated the burn ban that started at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30.

Due to the lack of breeze to clear pollutants out of the local area, King, Snohomish and Pierce counties still have burn bans in effect.

King and Snohomish counties both have a stage 1 burn ban, which means no burning should be done in wood-burning fireplaces, uncertified wood stoves or in fireplace inserts. Natural gas or propane stoves and inserts are ok to use during a Stage 1 burn ban.

No fires are allowed in indoor units specified or in any outdoor units, such as bonfires, campfires, or fire pits.

Those who are sensitive to pollutants should limit time spent outdoors, such as when exercising, as it could trigger asthma attacks, make breathing difficult, and worsen preexisting heart or lung problems.
