Anyone can learn this skill to communicate with anyone who is deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind, speech-disabled and with anyone who signs. This is a valuable skill for a deaf family member, co-worker, deaf customers and for those who want to learn a foreign language in a shorter period of time. A summer course will work for anyone.

Students will receive a unique opportunity to view the deaf world from the deaf teacher, Jodene Anicello. Students will develop knowledge of deaf culture and community and its influences, and they will also develop an awareness of ASL as a bridge of communication between deaf and hearing cultures. Their receptive and expressive skills will remove any communication barrier they may have with the deaf. The class is constructive, interesting, and hands on with the deaf ASL teacher.
