Cascadia Community College will hold its 10th annual commencement ceremony at 4 p.m. June 11 on the lawn outside of the college’s Global Learning and the Arts building. The ceremony will be on Cascadia’s campus for the first time since the college’s first commencement in 2001.

“We are thrilled to hold this year’s commencement ceremony on our campus. Our graduates will be able to celebrate their accomplishments with their families and friends in the place where they have completed all their hard work,” says Cascadia President Dr. Bill Christopher.

Jonathan Mauk, valedictorian of the class of 2010, will give an address at the ceremony. Mauk is the first person in his family to complete a college degree. He plans to transfer to the University of Washington-Seattle.

Cascadia opened its doors in fall 2000. The following spring, 22 students made up its first graduating class. After 10 years of steady growth, Cascadia’s class of 2010 will have more than 375 graduates.
