City of Bothell seeking board, commission members

Bothell City Hall officials are inviting residents to apply for a number of openings on various city boards and commissions.

Officials will take applications for those spots between now and 5 p.m. Feb. 12. Applications are available online at www.ci.bothell.wa.us or at the City Clerk’s office, Bothell City Hall, 18305 101st Ave. N.E.

Appointments to the above vacancies will take effect April 1. Interviews before the City Council are tentatively scheduled for March 9 with appointments tentatively scheduled for March 16.

There are 14 positions open on eight boards and commissions as follows:

• Civil Service Commission: One full six-year term vacancy (expires 2016) One partial-term vacancy (expires 2014)

• Landmark Preservation Board: One full five-year term vacancy (expires 2015)

• LEOFF-1 Disability and Retirement Board: One full two-year term vacancy (expires 2012)

• Library Board: One full five-year term vacancy (expires 2015)

• Lodging Tax Advisory Committee: Three full two-year term vacancies (expire 2012). Special qualifications apply to all three Lodging Tax Advisory positions. Contact the clerk’s office for information.

• Parks and Recreation Board: Three full three-year term vacancies (expire 2013)

• Planning Commission: Two full four-year term vacancies (expire 2014)

• Shorelines Board: One full five-year term vacancy (expires 2015)

According to the city, boards and commissions serve as advisory groups to the City Council and have the responsibility to study issues in depth to present reports and recommendations to the council.
