City of Bothell to relocate historic schoolhouse

From approximately 11 p.m. Nov. 14 to approximately 6 a.m. Nov. 15, the city of Bothell and its moving contractor, Nickel Bros. House Moving USA, will relocate the 106-year-old North Creek Schoolhouse from its existing location of 22711 31st Ave. S.E. to Centennial Park at 1129 208th St. S.E. in Bothell.

Once secured at its new home, the North Creek Schoolhouse will be restored and used as an interpretive center and meeting room. The moving cost of approximately $78,500 is covered in the city’s 2009-2015 Capital Facilities Plan.

The move is not weather dependent unless extreme weather conditions occur (date and time subject to change).

The route is as follows: 31st Avenue Northeast-228th Street, 29th Drive Southeast-223rd Street Southeast-23rd Drive Southeast-220th Street Southeast-20th Avenue Southeast-State Route 527 North-State Route 524/208th Street Southeast. Citizens in this area are asked to use alternate parking along these streets for the duration of the move. Intermittent traffic delays can be expected.
