HEALTH AND SAFETY FAIR

HEALTH AND SAFETY FAIR

Members of the Bothell Fire Department, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and many others will take part in the Lockwood Elementary Health and Safety Fair from noon to 3 p.m. May 17 at 24118 Lockwood Road, Bothell.

Along with fire- and water-safety presentations from the fire department and Coast Guard, the focus will be on:

• Oral health education

• Fitness for kids

• Nutrition and exercise

• Car-seat safety and free regulation checks

• Emergency survival kits

• Jump-rope fitness and fun

• Power and gas safety

• Bike safety

KENMORE FORUM

A group Kenmore residents are sponsoring a forum to give people in the community a chance to learn about Kenmore issues, voice concerns and discuss their vision for the future of Kenmore from 6:30-8 p.m. May 17 at the Kenmore Community Center, 7304 N.E. 175th St. Some candidates for the 2009 City Council race will be present. Free.

BROWN-BAG BRIEFING

Northshore Superintendent Larry Francois invites residents to hear about instructional technology in Northshore schools at the next Brown-Bag Briefing at noon May 20 in the Board Room at the Administrative Center, 3330 Monte Villa Parkway in Bothell. The briefing is free and open to the public. Bring your lunch.

This month’s briefing focuses on how teachers use technology in the classroom to improve student learning. Find out how local levy dollars are focused on improving instruction, what the state is doing to establish educational technology standards and how those standards are applied in classrooms.

BAKER TO HOST MEETING

Kenmore Mayor David Baker will host a question-and-answer meeting with residents from 7-8:30 p.m. May 28 at the Kenmore Community Club, 7304 N.E. 175th St.
