The following is a release from the Northshore School District:

The Northshore School District Board of Directors is hosting a Conversations with the Board event for parents, staff and community members, from 7-8:30 p.m. on Jan. 5 at the Inglemoor High School Library, to discuss the following:

1. As we get closer to the 2017-18 school year and the multiple changes our district will experience (e.g. new high school, grade reconfiguration, boundary/feeder pattern adjustments, etc.), what are the topics that are most prevalent on your mind? What do you feel you and your students will need to make the transition smoother?

2. Looking ahead beyond the 2017-18 changes, what ideas or issues would you like the district to focus on long-term (e.g. opportunity/achievement growth, enrollment growth, curriculum, academic programs, technology, career and college readiness, community partnerships, etc.)?

3. We know that achievement is not evenly shared by all students, and that lower achievement follows predictable patterns of family income, English language learner status and special needs. What are your thoughts about how to close these achievement gaps and support all students to high levels of achievement?

This evening forum is designed to allow for two-way conversation in an informal setting.
