Congresswoman Suzan DelBene will be travelling throughout the 1st Congressional District to hear directly from local businesses, farmers, workers, students and families about what types of reforms they want to see to reform our nation’s immigration system.
During the week of February 18-21, DelBene will make stops in Lynden, Blaine, Mount Vernon, Bothell and Redmond to highlight the impact immigration reform could have on our local economy, schools, businesses, families and communities.
Events taking place in Bothell include:
• Student and DREAMer roundtable discussion at 10:30 a.m. at the University of Washington Bothell’s Rose Room (UW1-280) located at 18115 Campus Way N.E. on Feb. 20. Local students from Snohomish County and UW Bothell and Everett CC leaders will be discussing with DelBene the importance of immigration reform, the DREAM act and the intersection of immigration policy, education and job training.
• The Life sciences & Biotech business roundtable at 1:30 p.m. at Halosource (1725 220th Street S.E., Suite 103) in Bothell. Local business leaders in life sciences, medical device manufacturing and biotech to discuss with Congresswoman DelBene the need for immigration reform to attract skilled workers to expand and grow the local economy.
• Immigration roundtable discussion with local King County residents and immigration reform advocates at 4:15 p.m. at Aca Las Tortas Restaurant22910 Bothell Everett Hwy, Suite 105A in Bothell. King County advocates sit down with Congresswoman DelBene to talk about immigration reform, their personal stories and the challenges they face and what they hope to see in comprehensive reform.
