Eleven Northshore Schools earn 2014 State Achievement Awards

Eleven Northshore schools earned Washington Achievement Awards for 2014 and will be honored during an awards ceremony April 28, at Spanaway Lake High School in Spanaway, Wash.

Eleven Northshore schools earned Washington Achievement Awards for 2014 and will be honored during an awards ceremony April 28, at Spanaway Lake High School in Spanaway, Wash. Award winners are selected using the state’s Achievement Index and the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Flexibility Waiver. The award is given in six categories: Overall Excellence, High Progress, Reading Growth, Math Growth, Extended Graduation Rate and English Language Acquisition.

The following schools earned awards: Arrowhead Elementary School, Math Growth; East Ridge Elementary School Math Growth; Fernwood Elementary School, Overall Excellence and Reading Growth; Inglemoor High School, Overall Excellence; Kokanee Elementary School, English Language Acquisition; Maywood Hills Elementary School, English Language Acquisition; Northshore Networks, High Progress; Shelton View Elementary School, Overall Excellence, Reading Growth and Math; Sunrise Elementary School, Reading Growth; Woodin Elementary, School Reading Growth and Math Growth; and Woodinville High School, Overall Excellence.

The Washington Achievement Awards are sponsored by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education.
