Epiphany Lutheran Church in Kenmore has announced its second annual “Rise, Reach Out & Shine” Day of Service, to be held on Sept. 14.

Approximately 75 congregation members, friends and community residents will join together to accomplish various service projects in Kenmore, Bothell and Kirkland, with a goal of making a difference in the community.

“We’re delighted to have this opportunity to serve our community,” said Linda Hohengarten, Epiphany’s Day of Service Co-Chair. “Our congregation is honored to share our time and talents through these local service projects and we appreciate the support and ideas provided by the cities of Kenmore, Bothell and Kirkland.”

Service projects are scheduled in two time periods — from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. The Day of Service will close with a celebration dinner at Epiphany from 5-6:30 p.m., where participants will share their experiences, view a video presentation of photographs taken throughout the day and join in a brief evening prayer service.

Morning projects will include quilting, book sharking and story reading, Sammamish Trail water stations. Afternoon projects include yard work for Bothell seniors and a singing group to visit senior care facilities.
