Ferguson named vice chair of King Co. Council

The Metropolitan King County Council unanimously appointed Councilmember Bob Ferguson to serve as vice chair for policy and chair of the Committee of the Whole at the council’s Jan. 12 meeting. The Committee of the Whole considers legislation and policy issues of interest to the entire council and is the only committee on which all nine councilmembers serve.

He represents District 1, which includes Bothell, Kenmore, North Seattle, Shoreline, Lake Forest Park and part of Woodinville.

Ferguson will also be a member of the following committees: Budget and Fiscal Management; Regional Policy; and Law, Justice, Health and Human Services.

He was elected to the council representing District 2 in 2003. Following the reduction of the 13-member council to nine, Ferguson won his current seat representing District 1 in 2005 with 74 percent of the vote.
