Kathleen Flynn was selected as the winner of “Best of Show” at Bothell’s first annual Senior Art Competition. Flynn’s painting was chosen for the top position by attendees of the Fourth Annual Bothell Senior Citizen Day, Sept. 10.

Flynn’s work, “Blossom Time,” is done in watercolors. Flynn has been painting for about 10 years when she began taking art classes at the Northshore Senior Center.

Seven seniors were named as finalists in the competition for artists age 55 or older. They were: Kathleen Flynn, Charles Muse, Robert Haertig, Sidne Fuller, Kathleen Freeman, Geoff Ethelston, and Bev Hawes. During Senior Day, their creations were displayed at TSUGA Fine Art and Framing, where the voting took place. Northshore Senior Center has plans to display the finalists’ art.
