Four candidates announced for Cascadia Community College presidency

After an extensive national search, four people have been named by the Board of Trustees as candidates for the position of president at Cascadia Community College. A presidential search committee comprised of representatives of the college and the community at large recommended these candidates to the board:

• Christine Chairsell, vice president for Academic and Student Affairs, Portland Community College

• Eileen Ely, president, Western Nebraska Community College

• Paul Mazur, vice president for Academic and Student Affairs, SUNY Adirondack Community College

• Eric Murray, vice president for Student Services, North Idaho College

“We received over 50 applications and we are very pleased with the qualifications of our finalists. Cascadia is well positioned for our next president to continue to build on our first 10 years of success,” says Board of Trustees Chair Kirstin Haugen.

Each of the candidates began visiting Cascadia this week (through May 27) to participate in a series of activities and events that are part of the inclusive search and screening process established by the Board of Trustees.
