In his first appearance on the ballot for elective office, King County Councilmember Rod Dembowski has received more than 71 percent of the vote to date, and more than 75 percent of all ballots counted after election night.

With less than three months until the November general election, Dembowski said he has no plan to slow down.

“I am humbled by the tremendous support I received from voters in the primary, but I’m not taking anything for granted. I plan to run a strong campaign into the fall and I will continue to meet as many voters as I can.”

Since taking office in February, Dembowski has already earned a reputation as a hard-working councilmember, in-touch with his district. He regularly meets constituents one-on-one, and has attended dozens of community and campaign events in every city in Council District 1.

“Getting out of the office and meeting constituents has been one of the most rewarding and informational parts of my time as a Councilmember.” Dembowski said, “I can’t wait to get back on voters’ doorsteps this fall.”

Following his overwhelming victory on Aug. 6, Dembowski’s former opponent, Shoreline resident John Fray, announced his support of Rod for the general election.

“It was my pleasure to campaign with Rod.” Said Fray, “I know him to be of unquestioned integrity and know that he’ll represent the voters in the First District well, as he already has.”

Rod Dembowski is a life-long community volunteer, civic leader and highly respected attorney. He was appointed in February 2013 following a lengthy community driven process to fill out the un-expired term of Attorney General Bob Ferguson in King County Council District 1. District 1 stretches from NE Seattle to Shoreline and includes all or part of the cities of Lake Forest Park, Kenmore, Shoreline, Bothell, Kirkland and Woodinville to the east. Rod lives in NE Seattle with his wife Lynna, and their two boys Evan and Camden.
