Beginning Dec. 1 Southwestern Snohomish County residents can plant trees on their property to attract wildlife and create privacy.

Residents who live near a body like a stream, river or lake can receive a free tree to plant. Sound Salmon Solutions, a nonprofit organization, is offering free advice from our ecologists to determine what kind of native trees would be appropriate for specific yards. No yard is too small. The offer is residents with a yard one acre or smaller. Those who have a larger property can call Kevin at 425-252-6686.

Native trees are an asset to property. They provide privacy, protect from soil erosion and are visually appealing. Once established, they require little maintenance.
