I-405 reduced to one lane in the Kirkland area overnight Saturday

Nighttime drivers on northbound Interstate 405 near north Kirkland and Totem Lake should plan for possible delays overnight Saturday.

Nighttime drivers on northbound Interstate 405 near north Kirkland and Totem Lake should plan for possible delays overnight Saturday. Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation plan to reduce the roadway to a single lane and close a nearby ramp to complete restriping work and a traffic shift for the I-405 Bellevue to Lynnwood Widening and Express Toll Lanes project.

Saturday, Sept. 13 to the morning of Sunday, Sept. 14

  • Up to three of northbound I-405 between Northeast 124th Street and Northeast 160th Street will close starting at 7 p.m. Two lanes will close at 8 p.m., and three lanes will close at midnight. One lane will reopen by 8:30 a.m., two lanes will reopen by 10 a.m., and all lanes will reopen by noon Sunday.
  • The Northeast 128th Street on-ramp to northbound I-405 will close from midnight to 7 a.m. Sunday.
