Imagine Housing in Kirkland has announced that Bothell resident Chris Jowell was hired as its new executive director beginning Aug. 10. This selection was made after a comprehensive national search and selection process. Jowell most recently served as the housing development manager for Catholic Housing Service of Western Washington where he led a team in the development of affordable housing and provided housing development consulting for other organizations. He has invested most of his 20 year professional career in housing with time spent at Senior Services of Snohomish County, Impact Capital, Snohomish County and Compass Health in Everett.

“Imagine Housing, through its housing and service programs, is making the positive impacts on my community that I want to be a part of,” Jowell said. “The executive director position offers the opportunity to help expand those programs and further Imagine Housing’s ability to assist homeless veterans, seniors and people with low incomes. I have personally experienced the generosity and support offered by the Eastside community. The chance to work with the Imagine Housing team to further this critical role inspired my desire to join their team.”

As executive director, Jowell will be leading a team of 20 staff dedicated to providing permanent affordable housing and supportive services on the Eastside. Since 1987, Imagine Housing has developed 13 affordable apartment communities, providing 485 rental homes to nearly 1,200 individuals that build welcoming communities and foster vibrant futures.
