Inglemoor grad Nichols helps Bentley University win cross-country invite

Freshman Ashley Nichols, an Inglemoor High graduate, helped the Bentley University (Waltham, Mass.) women’s cross country team win the Shacklette Invitational last Saturday morning at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H.

Bentley, with a team score of 33, finished 29 points in front of second-place Southern New Hampshire (62). Merrimack College and the host institution tied for third in the seven-team meet with 66 points.

Bentley’s senior captain Lauren Lesniak finished third with a 5,000-meter time of 19 minutes, 57.1 seconds, and Nichols, making her collegiate debut, followed in fourth (20:15.4).
